On 1st March 2013 the Buckinghamshire County Council issued a notice of application for the registration of land in Bryants Bottom as a Village Green under the Commons Act 2006 - Section 15(1).
The application was made by a resident of Bryants Bottom and seeks the inclusion in the Register of Town or Village Greens of the land described as the Field, which qualifies for registration as a town or village green on 27 February 2011 by virtue of use by a significant number of the inhabitants of the locality or neighbourhood within a locality as of right for lawful sports and pastimes for at least 20 years, such use continuing at the time of the application.
The Bryants Bottom Community Trust owns approximately 40% of the field in question and agreed that the field has been in use by a significant number of the inhabitants of the locality as of right for lawful sports and pastimes for at least 20 years. As a result the Trust had no objection to the land being registered as a Village Green.
In August of 2014 Bucks County Council organised a public inquiry and after due deliberation the appointed inspector recommended to the Council that the application be accepted. On 4th March 2015 the "Rights of Way" committee of Bucks CC accepted the recommendation contained in the Inspector’s report that the land be included in the register of Town or Village Greens on the grounds that the statutory criteria for registration under Section 15 of The Commons Act 2006 have been satisfied.
