Local Shop Services and Supermarket Opening Times for Vulnerable People

The link below will take you to details of the times that each local supermarket is dedicating to allow vulnerable and elderly people to do their shopping.  This does not apply to those that have been classified as "extremely vulnerable" by the government.  Those people should not go shopping and should be given priority by the supermarkets for home deliveries.

Priority access is given also to NHS and social care workers at most times.

Hughenden Valley Community Shop

Hughenden Valley Community Shop will continue to provide next day deliveries and orders for collection during the second lockdown period. The shop will be open as usual and will be continuing with hot food and drink provision but on a take-away basis.  For grocery delivery or collection, as before, please just place your order by email (anytime) or by phone by 5pm and your order will be prepared the next day for delivery or for your collection.

For telephone orders please call 01494 568653 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Please remember that, as they have always done, they will deliver anything - from one emergency item - perhaps a pint of milk, a card and a stamp, Strepsils, cat food or a loaf of bread – to a full week's worth of shopping. It is their ethos as a community shop, to support local residents and they can deliver as often as required - this is what they are there for.

If, however you are able to and would like to visit in person, the shop will remain open and the highest standards of hygiene and safety are in place.

Please remember that they might not always have everything on your list, but they will do their best to fulfil as much of the order as possible and they are having deliveries daily, so you can always try again the next day. If their phone lines are busy, please keep trying!
